NASIG is considering to arrange a group booking of a 7-day Alaska cruise departing from Seattle on Saturday June 8, 2024 (the day after the conference ends on June 7th) for attendees, families and friends. This group would not be an official conference event but the advantage of arranging a group is the ability to lock in fares at the prevailing rate with the addition of some form of complementary amenities. Seattle is a short (1 hour) flight from Spokane with 17 non-stop flights daily. There is no cost to the organization for the event.
Especially for attendees coming from other areas of the country, this cruise can provide a convenient, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a stunningly beautiful and culturally unique “bucket list” adventure. Alaska in June is the best time to visit. Long days provide more time to enjoy the views of glaciers calving, wildlife, and gorgeous scenery. The sailing will depart from Seattle on June 8th and will include a glacier viewing day, port stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, and Victoria, BC and (depending on the itinerary) an additional stop in Skagway, Sitka or Icy Strait Point. All cruises return to Seattle on the morning of June 15th, providing plenty of time to make afternoon flights home.
