NASIG is excited to announce that registration for #nasig2023 is now open! Our 38th annual conference will be held in-person at the elegant and historic Omni William Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, PA from May 22-25.
Our all-volunteer groups — the Conference Planning Committee (CPC) and the Program Planning Committee (PPC) — have been hard at work for months already in order to make this in-person event the best that it can be.
Please visit the conference webpage for complete details on registration rates, hotel accommodation rates, an FAQ, and links to additional local information. If you are entitled to a discount (NASIG staff, speaker, award recipient, sponsor, etc.), you will receive an email containing your registration code from your NASIG liaison.
Pittsburgh is known as both the “Steel City” and the “City of Bridges” and is beautifully situated between the Allegheny River and Monongahela River in southwest Pennsylvania. It is known for its ready accessibility via air, rail, or car and has a well-deserved culinary and cultural reputation as well. This will be NASIG’s third visit for its annual conference, having held it there previously in 1999 and again in 2019. One other highlight is that we will renew another NASIG conference tradition by facilitating group attendance at a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game! If you’d like to attend, please register via a separate link.
Just as exciting as local arrangements is the program we have planned, featuring innovative and interesting sessions as well as a vendor expo. Our keynote speaker will be Tarida Anantachai. Tarida is Director, Inclusion & Talent Management at the NC State University Libraries, where she oversees the recruitment and hiring process for library faculty and staff positions; leads equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts; and coordinates the Libraries Fellows Program. Her research and professional interests include topics around equity, diversity, and inclusion; early career development; leadership; and outreach programming. Tarida received her MSLIS from the University of Illinois.
Look for a separate announcement soon about availability of the full schedule with speaker information.
We can’t wait to welcome you to our conference to enjoy a great time of community, further learning, and inspiring sessions together with you!
