Deadline extended to 3/22 – NASIG Seeks Editors for Conference Proceedings and Newsletter

NASIG is seeking two candidates to join our organization as editors. We’re looking for an Editor for the Conference Proceedings and a Conference Editor for the Newsletter. Please see below for the details of each position.

Conference Proceedings Editor: We are seeking excellent writers who have editing experience and are able to work under tight deadlines. The Editor will join a team responsible for preparing the online and print edition of the Proceedings. The Editor will communicate the requirements for the published Proceedings to conference speakers and recorders, including submission formats, deadlines, and copyright requirements. After the conference, the Editor will work with speakers and recorders on revisions. The Editor must be diplomatic but firm about NASIG’s requirements. The Editor will work under the general direction of the NASIG Proceedings Manager.

Specific qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • NASIG membership
  • Prior editing/publishing experience
  • Demonstrated writing ability
  • Ability to complete the bulk of the editorial work between July 2019 and March 2020.

The Editor will serve a two year term beginning May 2019. Preference will be given to those applicants who address the specific qualifications listed above. Appointment is subject to approval by the NASIG Executive Board.

NASIG Newsletter Conference Editor
: The NASIG Newsletter Committee is seeking volunteers for an immediate opening for the position of Conference Editor. An example of the conference reports coordinated/copy-edited by this position can be found here. This position is available for an immediate start.

The Conference Editor’s responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating assignment of reporters for all NASIG conference sessions for the NASIG Newsletter
  • Meeting and/or communicates with reporters at the conference to ensure coverage
  • Coordinating submission of conference reports
  • Copy-editing submissions of conference session reports for the September issue of the NASIG Newsletter.
