It is important for the financial success of the conference, and the continued success of NASIG, that conference participants stay at the conference hotel. Every year NASIG contracts with a hotel for meeting space to stage the annual conference. As part of the meeting contract with the hotel, NASIG is obligated to fill a designated number of hotel rooms at a discounted rate. If we do not fill those rooms, NASIG will be obligated to cover the difference in cost. By ensuring that the organization fills these room reservations, it stays in compliance with the contract and can keep costs down.
