Student Mentoring Program – a new initiative from the Student Outreach Committee and the Mentoring Group

The NASIG Student Outreach Committee and the NASIG Mentoring Group are pleased to announce a new initiative: The NASIG Student Mentoring Program. This pilot program is designed to provide a yearlong opportunity for networking and professional development between NASIG regular members and our student members.

The goals of the program include:

  • Providing an opportunity for student members to get involved with NASIG and learn from professionals.
  • Providing an opportunity for mentors to give back and help student members grow in the field while at the same time learning from their mentees.

MENTORS: Any current NASIG member in good standing can serve as a mentor.

NASIG STUDENT MEMBERS:

  • Are you looking for an opportunity to get some firsthand information about working in the library field?
  • Would you like to interact one-on-one with an experienced library professional on topics such as professional development, research and publication, and job searching?
  • Are you interested in getting more involved with NASIG?

If your answer to any of these questions is YES, please consider applying to be a member of the initial group of NASIG student mentees.  This pilot program is designed to provide a yearlong opportunity for networking and professional development between NASIG regular members and our student members. The sponsors of the program are the NASIG Student Outreach Committee and the NASIG Mentoring Group.

Any current NASIG student member is eligible to participate.
