Analyzing a Copyright Question: A How-to Guide

Date: May 19, 2016
Time: 1:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)
Length: 1 hour
Registration deadline: May 18, 2016

Webinar Rates:

NASIG Members: $35
Non-Members: $50

Description:

Have you been asked a copyright question and you weren’t quite sure where to begin?  This webinar will work through library copyright scenarios using a ‘Framework for Analyzing any Copyright Problem’ to demonstrate how the Framework can be applied.  The rationale behind the Framework and its steps will also be discussed.

NOTE: This webinar will build upon materials that can be found in either the free Coursera MOOC ‘Copyright for Educators and Librarians’ class (Week 2 Lesson 2) or the free Coursera course ‘Copyright for Multimedia.’ It is recommended that webinar participants review these materials before the event because the webinar will not cover basic copyright information.

Speaker:

Lisa A. Macklin is Director, Scholarly Communications Office at Emory University.  In this role she works with faculty, students, and staff on the application of copyright law to teaching, research, and publishing.  She co-authored two free Coursera MOOCs on copyright with Kevin Smith and Anne Gilliland: ‘Copyright for Educators and Librarians’ and ‘Copyright for Multimedia.’
