It is with great pleasure we announce the 2009 NASIG Conference will be held in Asheville, NC. The dates of the conference will be: 4-7 June 2009. Asheville is a beautiful city nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and a top-rated tourist destination for many. This conference marks NASIG’s return to the East Coast for the first time in eight years and will be conveniently located for many NASIG members.
The conference hotel will be the Asheville Renaissance Hotel located on the doorstep of downtown Asheville to provide easy access to everything the downtown area has to offer including the historic Tom Wolfe house literally across the street from the hotel. In a few short blocks you can find yourself able to browse in local artisan shops, take a meal in a local restaurant, and explore an unique & thriving community. The NASIG board along with next year’s conference planning committee co-chairs are already exploring event possibilities throughout & near Asheville, including the Biltmore estate.
The NASIG conference planning committee co-chairs for Asheville, NC will be:
Eleanor Cook, from Appalachian State University and Steve Kelley from Wakeforest
University. For those of you NASIG members who live in and around North Carolina and are interested in serving on CPC, please feel encouraged to submit a volunteer form to serve on CPC! Eleanor & Steve welcome your interest in serving with them to make the 2009 conference as fun & dynamic as Phoenix will be in 2008.
